Prof. Philipp Bouteiller has held the role of Managing Partner of Artprojekt Entwicklungen GmbH, based in Berlin, since April 2022. Prior to this, he spent ten years as CEO of Tegel Projekt GmbH, Europe’s largest future-focussed project for urban technologies and smart cities. In 2018, Bouteiller was recognised as one of the 50 most influential smart city leaders globally.
An expert in innovation, he sees the reconciliation of city and nature as one of the biggest environmental and economic challenges of the age. He considers the transformation of cities through smart mobility solutions, intelligent infrastructure, renewable energies and environmentally and socially responsible neighbourhood design as groundbreaking and as one of the most forward-looking missions of our time.
In his role, Bouteiller continues to drive Artprojekt’s vision of a “curated future”. The company, founded in 1985, acts as a multi-sector developer, dedicating its projects to sustainability and social responsibility. Whether it’s the future of construction, hospitality, the future of food, ecological farming and fishing, or the future of health: the focus is always about the holistic approach to create projects with the highest quality, while integrating and preserving nature, and always bringing professionally curated art into the equation.
Philipp Bouteiller holds a degree in Communications (HdK) and, after gaining an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science, he then completed his doctorate in International Management. Since 2019, he has also passed on his knowledge as a professor for Digital Business and Smart Cities at the XU Exponential University in Potsdam.
