The first edition of the Privacy Symposium conference will take place in Venice, on April 5-7 2022.
The European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has enhanced personal data protection and data subject rights and at the same time impacted all companies and public administrations in Europe and beyond. New regulations are emerging in Europe and in other parts of the world that will directly impact how data can be accessed, processed, shared and used, with many challenges to be addressed.
The Privacy Symposium aims at supporting international dialogue, cooperation and knowledge sharing on data protection, compliance, and innovative technologies. This first edition will have three main focuses:
– Evolution of data protection regulations at national, regional and international level;
– Data protection compliance with innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence, Blockchain, Internet of Things, quantum computing, cloud, edge computing, 5G, V2X, metaverse, etc.;
– eHealth and medical data protection compliance with the GDPR, taking into account the lessons learned from the COVID-19 crisis and future medical data spaces.
The conference will offer more than 70 sessions with over 150 top-level experts and authorities from Europe and beyond (including the US, Canada, Brazil, Japan, Singapore, etc.) to address and discuss challenges such as cross-border data transfer, data subject rights, artificial intelligence, data protection by design, international cooperation, post-quantum privacy, cybersecurity, health and medical data spaces, etc.
